Performance «For memory» (may 2018, Saint-Petersburg)

Jane raised the subject of the value of personal and collective memory through the performative act. She used letters dated 1950-60s found in the antique stores, that costed from 10 to 100 rubles. After reading the most touching sentences written by unknown authors out loud she tоrn the originals one by one. By methods of destruction, presence, experiment, interaction into the gallery space and participation of the viewers Jane asked the question of our mark in history and cost of disappearing moments. In the end of the performance during the exhibition opening the viewers walked along the space, stepping on the left pieces of memories.
